NewSepticMound Based Systems Design Process
landplan.io offers a set of drawing tools to easily generate mound system maps and design plans.
Mound systems require a pressure network and pumping systems which are done through our Calculator program. You can read more about how the Calculator generates pressure networks and pump systems here: Calculator
You can easily share your plans with regulatory agencies and installation contractors.
Follow the steps below to generate a Mound System Design Plan:
Draw a Building With Flow feature and use the feature properties window to generate your flow rate: click here to learn more about our building with flow tool: Building with Flow
Connect a Sewer Main feature from the building at the estimated sewer exit of the building to the desired tank location click here to learn more about our pipe drawing tools: Sewer Main
Add a series of Tanks. You can use our Tank Tools to easily select local products from local Tank Manufacturers. Septic, Treatment Tanks, and Dose Tanks, Pumps, and Control Panels are often all needed in combination to generate an approved discharging system as these systems are often rely on high technology. click here to learn more about our tank drawing tools: Tank Tools
Draw a Trench on a Contour Line using the Trench Tool. click here to learn more about the trench tool: Trench Tool
Use the Contour System Forms to generate more trench features and a bed. click here to learn more about the contour systems form: Create Contour System Forms
TIP
Important properties to make sure you set in the contour form are Distribution Trench Media, Media Height Above Grade, Lateral Configuration
If you need to edit the drawn center trench, make sure the Trench Tool 
is selected, then you can hover your cursor over top of the center of the mound lines and pull them to the desired location. The mound will be re-drawn over top the center trench in the dimensions you had in the contour systems form.
If you need to move the entire mound, you can select the entire mound using the select by dragging a box tool in the edit tools and drawing a small box around the center of the mound
WARNING
Deleting the Distribution Bed feature will cause issues when trying to generate a plan through the calculator. It is used to store data related to your mound draw.
You can add a Distribution Method if you want to include a valve. A valve can be used to click here to learn more about the distribution method tool: Distribution Method Tool
- Add a Force Main (piping from the pump) from the last tank to the distribution method or to the connection point of the mound (if center feed, to the center of the mound trench)
You can repeat steps 4-7 to create multiple mound bed systems. This way you can generate many beds and design systems for higher flow rates.
After your drawings are completed in landplan.io, you can do a few things:
a. Share your map digitally via the share interface: Share your Map Digitally
b. Generate a PDF Map via the Print View interface: Print a PDF Map
c. Generate a PDF Plan via the Calculator interface: Print a PDF Report
