Snap guides

Snap guides help you draw square corners, for example on a building or a bed. Once you place the first points, guide lines appear at right angles to them, and the next point snaps onto a guide.

Use snap guides

The Snap guides tile shows in Edit tools only while you draw a line or an area.

1. Turn on the drawing tool, for example Building.
2. Click Snap guides in Edit tools. The tile turns blue.
3. Click the first two points of the feature.
4. Move the pointer along a dashed guide line and click to place the next point at a right angle.
5. Double-click to finish. Click Snap guides again to turn the guides off.

Snap guides work well on a georeferenced plan: trace the house corners and the guides keep them square.
