Select tools

Select a feature to see its properties, or to move, copy, rotate, scale or delete it. The three select tools are in Edit tools, in the Tools drawer.

Tool	Use it to
Select	Pick one feature with a click.
Multi-select	Pick several features, one click each.
Box select	Pick every feature inside a box you drag.

Select single feature

Select picks the one feature under the pointer. Click it to see the feature's properties, or before you move, copy, rotate or delete it.

1. Click on the Select tool in Edit tools.
2. With the tool on, click on the feature you want. Its properties open in the Properties tab.
3. Press Esc, or click Select again, to leave the tool.

Shift-click another feature to add it to the selection, or a selected one to take it out.

With a mouse, the feature a click would pick is outlined as you move the pointer, with its name and layer next to the pointer.

When features overlap, a click picks:

• A point (a soil test, a fitting) before a line (a trench, a pipe), and a line before an area.
• Among areas, the smallest one, so a click inside a tank picks the tank, not the buffers, setbacks, soil boundary or parcel around it.
• Your design's features before the parcel and other map data.

Basemaps and other background layers can't be selected.

Features hidden under others

To pick a feature under another one, right-click the map (press and hold on a touch screen). The menu lists the Features here: every feature at that spot, the top one first, with its name and layer. Point at one to outline it on the map, and click it to select it. Its arrow opens the feature's actions. See Right-click menu.

Select multiple feature

Multi-select adds each feature you click to the selection, so you can move, copy or delete them together.

1. Click on the Multi-select tool in Edit tools.
2. Click each feature you want. Each one is picked as Select picks it.
3. Click a selected feature again to take it out of the selection.
4. Press Esc, or click Multi-select again, to leave the tool.

The Properties tab shows the selected features.

Select features by dragging (drag box)

Box select picks every feature inside a box you drag on the map.

1. Click on the Box select tool in Edit tools.
2. Drag a box over the features you want.
3. Press Esc, or click Box select again, to leave the tool.

Every selectable feature the box covers is selected, and the Properties tab shows them.

Feature properties

When you select a feature, its properties open in the Properties tab of the right panel on a computer (of the left drawer on a tablet or phone): its name, its sizes, and the values you can change, such as a tank's product or a trench's cost.

A parcel shows its parcel number and address. To change a value, type it in the field. See Component properties for what each design feature holds.

The ⋮ menu at the top of the tab has:

• Show all properties, for every field the feature has, not only the main ones.
• Float on the map, to show the properties in a small window next to the selected feature. Drag it to move it, and click Back beside the feature to put it back. Dock on the left returns it to the drawer.
• Delete feature.
