Spray Based Systems Design Process

Septic systems which utilize spray heads to distribute wastewater to a site is a unique system. It is considered an onsite system because the spray is designed to not run off the site but be absorbed into the soil.

Spray systems require a pressure network and pumping systems which are done through our Calculator program. You can read more about how the Calculator generates pressure networks and pump systems here: Calculator

landplan.io offers a set of drawing tools to easily generate spray system maps and design plans.

You can easily share your plans with regulatory agencies and installation contractors.

Follow the steps below generate a Trench System Design Plan:

  1. Draw a Building With Flow feature and use the feature properties window to generate your flow rate: click here to learn more about our building with flow tool: Building with Flow

  2. Connect a Sewer Main feature from the building at the estimated sewer exit of the building to the desired tank location click here to learn more about our pipe drawing tools: Sewer Main

  3. Add a series of Tanks. You can use our Tank Tools to easily select local products from local Tank Manufacturers. Septic, Treatment Tanks, and Dose Tanks, Pumps, and Control Panels are often all needed in combination to generate an approved discharging system as these systems are often rely on high technology. click here to learn more about our tank drawing tools: Tank Tools

  4. Add Spay Zone(s) using the Spray Tool. click here to learn more about this tool: Spray Tool

The software will generate Spray Head and Distribution Bed features for each spray head point of dispersal

WARNING

If you delete the Distribution Bed or Spray Head features, this will cause an issue with the Calculator as it uses these to build pressure networks and calculate total area

  1. Optionally you can add a valve in order to distribute to different zones (groups of spray heads connected via a Manifold) click here to learn more about the Distribution Method to add a valve for zoning: Distribution Method Tool

  2. Add a Force Main (piping from the pump) from the last tank to any valve or directly to the spray heads.

You can repeat steps 4-6 to create multiple spray zones. This way you can generate many different spray zones if needed and design systems for higher flow rates.

After your drawings are completed in landplan.io, you can do a few things:

a. Share your map digitally via the share interface: Share your Map Digitally

b. Generate a PDF Map via the Print View interface: Print a PDF Map

c. Generate a PDF Plan via the Calculator interface: Print a PDF Report
