Septic Isolation Distances
Most regulatory jurisdiction requires septic components to be planned and installed at specific distances from specifically named isolation features.
landplan.io handles isolation distance requirements with our create isolation feature tool. The goal is to populate a relevant list of site features specifically named in the local regulations. Sometimes it gets more complicated, but generally, we provide a list of categories of site features identified in the regulations. When you draw the feature on the map, upon completion a buffer with the required isolation distance is generated.
To use the tool, find and click on the create isolation feature tool on the right panel septic toolset. This will bring up a dialog window, showing a list of features for isolation. This list is typically generated from our research on local regulatory jurisdictions. If you feel it is missing entries or needs updated, please contact us
Select a feature you would like to draw on the map with its isolation distance. You can also choose to set the isolation distance of the buffer, or simply toggle it off to not draw a buffer.
There are options for point, line, or polygon isolation features. You can also edit and save the style of the isolation feature categories.
Setting the layer options through the dialog window. You can click on the tabs at the top to navigate through the form.
